Divorce and Partner Loss Transition Group
NOW FORMING - A Support Group for Women in Transition

Have you recently divorced or separated from your life partner?

One of the most productive settings for personal reflection and learning, for countering feelings of isolation and alone-ness, as well as for reclaiming confidence and a sense of movement forward can be found in small, guided gatherings of those working through similar challenges as one's own.

I have found small groups to have various benefits that are quite elusive in other communications.  Such as....well, a sense of empowerment for one thing.  If one has taken a rapid series of life's blows, then the sharing and receiving of worthy compassion from other women counts!  And, the ability to offer one's own practical knowledge to help others can be amazingly self-reinforcing.  Emotional support from peers can help to lessen anxieties, and provide sources for daily coping with fears, emptiness and loneliness.  One cannot hold back her trip into the future.  A group, so to speak, can offer a travel ticket.  Consider making a journey seem more possible, faster, less alone, and somewhat engaging.

Amoung the several possible issues we can explore are:  the temporary loss and regaining of self, strengthening ego, developing positive public self respect,  learning to engage confidently in a new social framework, claiming your rights without guilt, practicing "fun" without a partner, overcoming shame or feelings of personal failure, rage, blame and self-balance in the universe, recognizing opportunity, moving forward - but not blindly, dating, feeling desirable, taking time to be yourself, managing lawyer realtionships and negotiating the court system.

Please give me a call to discuss the possibility of your participation.  I am looking to form a cohesive group of women, at least 40 years of age, going through a first time divorce.  We will start to meet and engage others in a simlar situation in September 2011.  Please call me,  I look forward to speaking with you regarding your participation.
